Costumes: Rent a costume from Closet Capers in Santa Cruz (831-425-7685) to fully enjoy the spirit of the Renaissance and feel like part of the action.
Overnight accommodations are extremely limited this year due to the US Open Golf Tournament at Pebble Beach the same weekend as this Festival. Local motels and hotels started taking reservations a year ago. As of March 1st, there are a couple of nearby campgrounds that still have openings. Some of the local RV parks have openings as well. I found condos near the beach for $375/night. That sounds bad but there are three bedrooms, 2 with twin beds or $125/night per room. If people can group together, it becomes pretty affordable and has a kitchen, living room, beach view??, etc. They're 20 minutes from the Festival site. I can reserve them for you or you can call At The Dunes [(831) 768-7285) or Toll Free: (888) 91-Dunes]. Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Website: http://www.atthedunes.com I talked to Judy there. Make sure you tell her you're with the Scottish Renaissance Festival and we're quoted the "group" rate. I'm going to take on rooming people together if they don't want to reserve one themselves and find roommates. All they need to do is contact me and I'll put them into the list. |
